Audio-Animation | Max/Maya | 2020
Here's a quick project I made using MASH to generate audio-visual lighting using a different technique.
The system works by instancing two different versions of a light model. One is a "dummy" light that remains "off". The other has an emissive texture for the light. Using the MASH Audio Nodes, I set up the system so whenever there is a pulse, the emissive model will scale up and poke through the dummy light to "turn on".
I then added some glow and chromatic aberration in comp
The result is a quick and iterable system for creating multiple lights with controls for animating them. The poke-through method holds up surprisingly well even close up, especially with the added comp work.
